I think all slept much better last night. Mike is better and the men and some of the ladies went back to do more work on the church in the mountains. The rest of us finished gathering statistics from the school children. We found that many of the 6th graders had graduated on to the 7th grade, so were no longer at Cabaret’s School. This is good news. Some children cannot move on, even though...

Sleeping was a challenge to say the least, last night, but with the Lord’s grace we still got a lot accomplished today.
Before the groups got started with their projects, Kim and Chassidy went to visit a woman nearby, who had recently had a miscarriage. While her blood pressure was a bit high, she had no fever and seemed to be doing as well as could be expected. The ladies prayed with her and...

What an awesome day this has been. Everyone should have the opportunity to be welcomed and greeted by many, many, loving children, as we have been today. We left Miami at 10:05 this morning, and arrived in Port au Prince around noon. The next leg of our journey was an experience, to say the least. I am so glad Mike has become proficient in the art of Haitian driving. The 20 miles to Bercy,...

Haiti is so beautiful. From the people that live there to the mountains that are all over the island. You can’t explain it. The kids at the orphanage just want someone to love on them and give them attention. They are really amazing kids. They are funny and can make you smile like never before. Or when you make them smile, that’s the greatest feeling anyone could ever have. When all...

When I was told it was difficult to sleep in Haiti, I have to say I came prepared for the worst…after the first night I was completely stunned at how well I slept and how little noise there was. And then came night number two, most of us fell asleep early when it was relatively quiet so I assumed I would just sleep through the majority of the noise…but boy was I wrong. First the rooster started....

We arrived safely at the orphanage and were greeted by the smiles of the children. We unpacked our bags and went through a quick orientation. We were able to spend the afternoon loving on the kids and we were able to take a walk up the mountain. The weather is AMAZING. Cloud cover all day and high temps around 86. It is wonderful.
The “first-timers” have been taking it all in. They have all fallen...

Chets Haiti Mission Update
Hello, Everyone. I figure I owe you an update. Please remember that I’m a man and an accountant and can rarely put two ws together. Here’s something short to wet your whistle until we get back and can tell all. I may get a chance to write again, but I’m not sure.
God could not have provided a better team. The heart and enthusiasm that this team has is absolutely...

We just wanted to thank the San Jose Baptist team for spending a week with us! They were a great help in so many ways, which were previously mentioned and also helped to take care of sick little Climako. Thankfully, he did not have Cholera, and is well again, praise God!
Due to this, we have set up a hand-washing station upon entry to the orphanage compound. All hands are washed in a bleach/water...

Hello all,
We have been pretty busy the last couple of days. We completed the painting projects we had on our lists and the building is looking good. Today, we spent the morning in the church service and Paster Mike preached as well. It was wonderful to see how we can all worship together despite language differences. We also celebrated with the children today for the birthdays from November. ...

Hello all,
We have internet access again after switching providers and clearing up equipment issues. We have been painting the school and it looks peachy king (literally its peach). Its a very nice shade too. We were able to get the brick making machine back up and running and other repairs around the facility. Besides all that, our interaction with the children has been the real blessing. Many...
