We are off to Leogane, Haiti for clinic #2 at E Vamiwoz school. We’ll treat the students at the school and local village. Some aspiring medical students will observe our doctors. Time to help more Haitians improve their health and motivate others to live their dreams!

The team are all well and loving life. We have enjoyed learning a new culture and laughing with new friends. Yesterday was quite an experience as we went to church and were able to worship through watching the Haitians worship our mighty Lord; what an inspiration! Today we are preparing to head out to Te Nwa (“The Mountain Area”) to meet the people and invite them out to a church service...

Today was a very productive day. We were up and moving at 6:00 AM. We started the day with breakfast and a devotion led by Josh. We began our work around 8:00 AM. Josh and Bobby went to pick up supplies to rebuild the guard shack. Joi and I spent some time with Junia and Climako (two kids from the home). Most of us spent the day painting gates, bathrooms, and bedrooms. Josh and Bobby worked on the...

We started our journey bright and early this morning. We all met at Jacksonville International Airport at 5:30 AM and boarded our first flight to Miami at 7:00 AM. We had a very smooth flight. We connected at Miami International Airport to begin our journey to Port-Au-Prince. Upon arrival we were greeted by a Haitian “Mariachi” band. After we found all 14 duffle bags, several Haitians escorted...

What a team we had…what a time we had! Let’s start by saying that even though I was dumb enough to book our flight on Superbowl Sunday, God took care of the details right from the start. To make a long story short, all 10 of us and 21 pieces of luggage got bumped in Chicago, we received $475 worth of vouchers, each, stayed in a Miami hotel and watched the Packers win the Superbowl! ...

We are busy round-the-clock with our 11-month-old baby, Leonel – a full-time job for Bonnie now. The orphanage is not equipped right now to handle any children under two, so he will be staying upstairs with us at this time. Bonnie was able to go to Port Au Prince and take two children (Wilguens and Marc Kenley) to the doctor for therapy for disclocated elbows and to purchase tile for the...

Sunday morning began with worship in our church within the compound. Corey, Tiffany, and Chassidy had worked with Herby and some of the children, to sing a song during the service. They did an excellent job. Herby at least shared the verse that the pastor preached on, with those sitting near him. Unfortunately, I wasn’t one of them. I kept Leonel occupied by feeding him Fruit Loops. The...

As I look around, everyone looks so nice with their new hairdos. Nadege stood for hours tediously braiding hair into neat corn rolls. I should have been first in line, afterall, I could have benefited the most from the instant face lift effect. Projects planned had to be postponed, since materials were unavailable, so most of the day was spent playing with children and rescuing the puppies...

The day began with a wonderful breakfast of pancakes and bacon prepared by the two gentlemen of our group- thank you Corey and Phil! After breakfast and a devotion led by Sonya, the men headed off for supplies in town for the ceiling in the church room and for more cement and bricks for the church up the mountain. The women of the group assisted Donnie at the school to get the information on children...

I got up at 5:30 am, it was my day to cook breakfast with Sonya. I wanted to shower and wash my hair prior to starting breakfast. Surprise, the electricity doesn’t come back on till 6:00 am, when the generators are started. Shower by flashlight, new experience. The cold shower is much more welcomed in the evenings after a hot day’s work, than it is at 5:30 in the morning. But it’s...
