Our clinic day at Te Nwa was a success…more than 133 patients were seen in all. Providing some semblance of primary care to these very needy people was cleansing in some ways for the medical people among us. Everyone made a difference in this, and the view from the top of Te Nwa (plus the lovely breezes) made for a very enjoyable day. Maybe the most moving part of the day was when the Haitian pastor...

Today was medical clinic day. (Big project for the ladies and our translators). It was also the middle of our time here in Haiti.
The clinic was a small one by some standards, but the nurses and workers managed to see about 70 patients. Complaints covered a wide range of ailments, but special care and consideration was given to each Haitian who came for care. Care was free today, and the love of Christ...

A new day brought new challenges for the team. The biggest lesson learned today was probably patience. It seems that nothing in Haiti happens quickly. Whether it be what should be a 45 minute errand or hanging a new door on the school, even the smallest tasks take much more time than most Americans are used to.
Today the team split up again….this time in at least three groups. One team made up of...

The day has ended and we are all still decompressing from the day. The team split into two groups: one visited a neighboring mission work in the mountains, and the other group procured supplies in Port Au Prince for the school addition.
The group that visited the mountain mission did a variety of work including medical as well as malnutrition screening. As always, the stark beauty of the mountains...

We arrived safely in Haiti yesterday, to the open arms of the children here at the orphanage & Mike & Bonnie.
First day sights and sounds can be overwhelming. The noises, smells and experiences tend to overwhelm. So our first night was kind of quiet (like all teams are I’m sure).
This morning Kim began our week with a devotion titled: Beauty from Ashes. Since our real work begins today–I...

Just received this message from Bonnie Snider in Haiti:
“Oceanway Baptist arrived yesterday! Lorelei is teaching English for summer secondary school that started today! The men are building concrete walls for four new latrines at the school. Awesome group!”

Thank you for allowing us at Ft. Caroline Baptist Church to partner with you this past week. What a wonderful experience. You and the children will be in my prayers each day. Please tell the children I missed their beautiful voices this morning when I woke up. God’s blessings on you, Mike, and everyone at Cabaret Baptist Children’s home. Planning on coming back when God allows me to. Love...

Dear family and friends,
We wanted to share our thanks and love for all of you and wanted to
say that we are doing very well. This storm (Emily) has not gotten the best of
us. In fact, it has served to fill our cistern with drinking water which we
desperately need! In addition, the cloudy skies and gusty winds are keeping the
heat down. So, we are just praising the Lord for his provision!
We...

Fort Caroline team is here and doing amazing work at the school pouring the foundation for additional classrooms! Ladies are working with the children. Weather has been stormy beginning yesterday with some outer bands of Emily. It has only served to fill our cistern and cool us off! Thank you Lord! Please pray for continued protection for us and for the people in harms way. Meci!

From the bottom of my heart, I send a special thank you to Bonnie, Mike, David and everyone at Cabaret Baptist Children’s Home for allowing me, and People for Haiti, into the lives of so many beautiful children in Haiti. Your Home is my 2nd home and I cannot wait to get back! You all are wonderful! May God continue to bless you and all of your children. ?
