What’s Cookin’ ?
Soon after arrival, the team takes a tour of our facilities. These pictures were taken in our orphanage kitchen. 3 daily meals are prepared for our 28 resident children, and many of our 30+ employees. 
Meet Madame Sargesse, our evening cook. Cooking for this crowd isn’t such a stretch- she has 9 children to cook for living in her home.
This is a Haitian cooker. It’s kind of along the lines of a fish fryer & uses LP gas. One big difference- Haitian cookers are made from old tire rims!!
Campbell’s chicken soup is um-um good! Actually, I think this is tomato & salmon sauce. Most meals are some kind of sauce- salmon, bean, tomato, or vegetables, served over rice. Occasionally some chicken or goat meat is added- yum 
For breakfast, it’s oatmeal or bread & butter, with the occasional eggs or peanut butter.
No, I don’t eat it. Yes I know I’m a big chicken, but I’ll stick with pb&j, thank you.
