In February of 2007, I left the United States for the first time in my life and I had no idea that my life was going to change forever. Blindly, I had been going through the motions. The trip that my husband and I took to Haiti changed everything. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of Haiti and her people. When I heard this song for the first time the other day it brought tears to my eyes. The everyday ins and outs of life can drive you to go through the motions. My trips to Haiti showed me that God wants so much more than that for His children.
God has taken us all the way to Haiti and back -4 times. We are now awaiting the next trip when we will bring our son home…

Gorgeous, picture Karen I love it
Oh Cheryl (& Karin)…I love that song by Matthew West – I have been telling my family it's my favorite and my 4 year old son asks me to play it everytime we are in the car! Everytime I hear it I think of Haiti…not because I have been there, but because I want to go there and I want to do something for her and her people! I truly believe God is calling me to stop "going through the motions"!
I have been changed by reading the blogs of missionaries in Haiti – including yours, and I want to do so much! Thank you for your insightful blogs, and the wonderful hands-on work you are doing! God bless you!
I pray you will get the call soon, Karin, to bring your son home!
Blessings!
