Haiti Endowment Fund

As most of you know, through the cooperative efforts of Marcus and Billie Greene, JBA and the Florida Baptist Foundation, we have established a permanent Endowment to help assist with work in Haiti. While the resources of the Endowment at this time are not sufficient to underwrite the ministry, every little bit helps because there is no insignificant gift.

A few months ago, I received an email that stated UNLESS the Lord provides, the summer school program would not be open and many children would not eat an adequate daily meal for at least 12 weeks. You may remember receiving this email. I contacted Cheryl and Rusty Merritt and we began the discussion for the Florida Baptist Foundation to provide a gift that would make it possible for summer school to be open over the summer. That was only the beginning. Just last week, Pastor Don Cooley, Hart Haven Baptist Church, and I traveled to Haiti and visited the orphanage, church and school. We had an exciting and blessed trip. We were able to walk house to house in the village and the Habitat for Humanity houses nearby sharing and witnessing. Over 30 men and women prayed to receive Christ as their Savior. We had a wonderful worship service in the church and visited and shared with all the children both at the orphanage and school. We were able to share the gospel over the radio station that reaches as far as Port-au-Prince. We pray many heard the good news.

If you are reading this, you already know about this mission project. The challenge is to get others involved and let them personally know about it. I welcome the opportunity to let your church know how they can get involved. Please feel free to give me a call, 904.346.0325.
