Our clinic day at Te Nwa was a success…more than 133 patients were seen in all. Providing some semblance of primary care to these very needy people was cleansing in some ways for the medical people among us. Everyone made a difference in this, and the view from the top of Te Nwa (plus the lovely breezes) made for a very enjoyable day. Maybe the most moving part of the day was when the Haitian pastor...

Today was medical clinic day. (Big project for the ladies and our translators). It was also the middle of our time here in Haiti.
The clinic was a small one by some standards, but the nurses and workers managed to see about 70 patients. Complaints covered a wide range of ailments, but special care and consideration was given to each Haitian who came for care. Care was free today, and the love of Christ...

A new day brought new challenges for the team. The biggest lesson learned today was probably patience. It seems that nothing in Haiti happens quickly. Whether it be what should be a 45 minute errand or hanging a new door on the school, even the smallest tasks take much more time than most Americans are used to.

The day has ended and we are all still decompressing from the day. The team split into two groups: one visited a neighboring mission work in the mountains, and the other group procured supplies in Port Au Prince for the school addition.
The group that visited the mountain mission did a variety of work including medical as well as malnutrition screening. As always, the stark beauty of the mountains...

We arrived safely in Haiti yesterday, to the open arms of the children here at the orphanage & Mike & Bonnie.
First day sights and sounds can be overwhelming. The noises, smells and experiences tend to overwhelm. So our first night was kind of quiet (like all teams are I’m sure).
