Needed- Green duffel bags

Santa has his bag all packed & ready or his big trip next week. We’re ready to pack some bags for a big trip, too. We have 2 teams going to Haiti in early January that have been working very hard planning and gathering needed supplies and ministry items. They will be doing construction- putting a roof on the Terre Noir site, painting & building benches; conducting training...

Christmastime in Haiti

Saturday and Sunday mornings both started with temperatures in the mid 60’s (a real cold snap}. On Saturday night the team helped put up the Christmas tree and decorations around the orphanage. It was quite a joy watching the awe and wonder in the eyes of the children as they each placed an ornament on the tree. Sunday morning was time to present the nativity play the children had been working...

VBS and the Christmas Story

Saturday December 15, 2007 Today was VBS at the church in Bercy. We got started around nine and went to about noon. It was a fun-filled day of prasing the Lord through song, both American and Kreole, and sharing the true meaning of the Christmas spirit. The girls began with some American praise songs, then Pastor Nathan with his accordian blessed us with Hatian music. The...

Hungry

Wow. What a day it has been. Busy, yet very productive. It always seems to me on missions trips we can get caught up in the logistics of things, such as sorting through hordes of candy and toys for stockings, diapers, food and everything else under the sun. However, I always look for the moment when God reminds me why we go and do what we do in the first place. Three Hatian people accepted Christ today...

Ridgewood / BCF Team Arrives

After short delays leaving both Jacksonville and Miami, we arrived safely in Port-au-Prince just 10 minutes late. The whole team agreed that it was the smoothest that Immigration and Customs has ever been. Rusty and Nick met us and we were off to buy food and travel out to Cabaret without incident. There were lots of hugs and smiles as veteran Haiti mission trippers renewed old friendships and the...

We’re Baaaack!

Sorry we’ve been away from bloggity land for a couple of weeks. I’ve been down & out fighting a sciatic nerve problem. We also have big computer problems… or e-mail problems… or internet problems. Or maybe it’s a combination of all three. If we knew exactly what the problem was, maybe we could fix it!! Anyway, our internet has been sporatic at best, and now that Rusty...
