I mentioned this adorable little guy in a previous post. He’s our other new addition. He has an awful, but amazing story.
In Sept. a couple went out early to work in a sugar cane field an found an abandoned baby tied to a tree. Surprisingly, the baby was in fairly good condition. They took the baby into Cabaret and brought him to the police & to the judge. The police were not able to...

I spoke with Micheline Midday on Tuesday, and most of the storm had passed. It was still raining, as it had been since Sunday, but no damage or problems at the mission from it. She also had not heard of any reports of severe flooding in Cabaret or any deaths due to the storm. All great news for such a big rain producing storm system! All schools were closed and only 2 of our Nannies were able to make...

Tropical storm “Noel” has been sitting over Haiti & the Dominican for a couple of days. It is reported to be a slow moving storm producing massive amounts of rain. I spoke with our employees this morning and they reported a lot of wind & rain overnight, but so far, Praise God, all is well. You can check out news reports about this storm here and here.
Big downpours can be devastating...

Marcus loved this song and he taught it to these children whom he loved.
Rev. Marcus B. Greene built this Orphanage building and it has been named for him and dedicated in his memory.
Marcus will always be remembered as “a faithful servant of his Lord Jesus Christ” whom he loved and served wholeheartedly. Marcus now we know you really are “very well, thank you”!

Well, really we were marching to the mountain church of Terre Noir and back, but it sure felt like Heaven.
We had a wonderful time of worship last Friday. The service itself was great, but after the service the worship & praise didn’t stay on the mountain…. we were one great body of singing & praise all the way down- and beyond.
Nathan played his accordion and Rusty blew...

Mike ran a carpentry crew all week.
Sometimes his apprentices were very green.
He is a great teacher and mentor. Wilguens and Nadege are a couple of his special buddies this week.
Nadege wanted a little table for her room. She knew exactly what she wanted and asked Mike if he would build it for her. Mike can’t say no to these cutie-pies, so he got to work on it. Nadege was at his elbow...

During the medical clinic a lady brought her 7 day old nephew in to be seen by our visiting team. The mother was at home & very ill. Because of this she was not able to feed the baby. At all. Ever. This baby was now 7 days old, never been fed, too weak to suck, and his skin was already breaking down.
Kim, Mike & Karen started working on him trying to get an I.V. started but his veins wouldn’t...

The mission team from Mandarin Baptist is gone. They worked us slap to death!! (just kidding) They even left a little something behind to remember them by! ha!ha!
They really were a great, hard working bunch. You would never have guessed it was their 1st trip to Haiti.
We were sad to see them go. We have met so many wonderful folks who have come down on teams this year! We are so blessed!
We...

After the devastation we saw in Cabaret last week it is good to remember the glories of our Father and “that the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart if perfect toward him.”
Relief efforts were begun very quickly for Haiti and even the government sent some equipment and workers to dig out the debris, although...

Just kidding!!
We were off for a trek through the village!
Last night we joined our congregation at the home of one of our church families.
We had a home prayer meeting. It was wonderful, worshipful, amazing.
We prayed…
sang hymns & praise choruses…
read scripture….
lifted up the name of Jesus together…
and prayed some more.
