TEAMWORK

I believe the work of God is going & growing because of all the Teamwork involved. People are following God and answering His call to be involved and a part of His Haiti team. Where do we see the work of these teams? Mission Teams- We see individuals coming together to build teams to accomplish all the hard work of the mission. We already have mission teams scheduled for most months in 2007! What...

Boy vs. Machete

I promised some pictures of the medical stuff that went on a week or two ago- so here is one of the more than 300 families- not patients, but entire families =) that were treated. This little boy fell on a machete- a common cause of injuries to little boys in Haiti! The machete won! Dr. Mike & Nurse Jana are summoned. The verdict- stitches are necessary. Preparations are made in the suturing...

Majesty !

Praise the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God, you are very great; you are clothed with splendor and majesty. He wraps himself in light as with a garment; he stretches out the heavens like a tent and lays the beams of his upper chambers on their waters. He makes the clouds his chariot and rides on the wings of the wind. He makes winds his messengers, flames of fire his servants. He set the earth on its...

Mountain Worship

Still a “mountain top” experience! I am always humbled when I look at these precious people of the mountains who struggle just to make it through to see the sun come up each day, and yet are so very faithful and committed to their Lord. They walk for miles up and down mountainous path to bring a few vegetables to sell in the market or to draw water for their families. All of my excuses...

Beach Fun

On a recent Sunday afternoon, Sarah, Rusty, Nick & I spent the afternoon relaxing at the beach with 15 of our orphanage children. We had a really fun & refreshing time as this was a much smaller group than we usually have in tow! Sarah & Rusty enjoy snorkeling on the nearby coral reef and bringing their discoveries in to share with the children. The kids are all getting much better with...

What God Can Do

I just wanted to give you a glimpse of what happens when God moves. This week He did something very special. He put a team of people together from 3 cities, 2 states, and 5 churches!I could never have done that- I never would have done that! But it was just the right mix (or maybe just His obedient servants) that He chose to accomplish those tasks He had planned for this time. And just look at what...

Amazing Team

We have a wonderful mission team who have come to give love & aid wherever they can this week. Doctor Mike and Nurse Jana have seen too many patients to count and all the rest of us non-medical people have pitched in taking temps, weights, registration & triage, pharmacy, crowd control, and offering a comforting word. We had 3 days of medical clinic – 2 really big days;-) but some...

Yesterday, Friday, I returned to Haiti after longer than my usual absence. I’ve been enjoying my new grandbaby (and doting on the slightly bigger grandkids) as well as helping my daughter while she recovers from her surgery. I also caught up on a few long neglected projects- it’s really hard to get to some things when you’re only there a couple of weeks or so- (so, did you buy that...
