This is a picture of Barthese as we travel to Healing Hands for Haiti medical ministry in Petionville. We took Barthese and Baby Cliff Remy (the childof one of our security staff) to be evaluated for surgery. Both boys are hydrocephalic and need shunts to drain the fluid from around their brain. This flag was a symbol of hope & victory this week. Usually the flag of Haiti only reminds me of how corrupt the government is here, but not this week. I’ve spent the last few days shopping, packing & generally getting ready to return to Haiti. We’re looking forward to starting school this week, so I’m packing lots of school things- uniforms, shoes, school supplies & school aids- but only the 3 of us are travelling this month so I’m limited to 6 50 lb. duffel bags. Oh well, I’ll just re-pack a couple dozen more...
